Hog Springs Rest Area/Trailhead/Canyon. A year-around stream in the desert? That's Hog Creek! Hog Springs Rest Area is the trailhead for an easy 1-mile hike up Hog Canyon between 800' walls of layered Wingate and Kayenta sandstone to the first waterfall and pool. It gets seriously tougher the next mile to Hog Spring with more pools and waterfalls, and yet more difficult beyond that as the canyon splits into multiple forks with narrow slot canyons, two of which appear after the next photo. Select Map of Hog Canyons, and more info for North Wash slot canyons information and a wild search and rescue story.
